he Ongoing Charity is waqf which can take many forms. Definition of waqf means that fruits are donated for sake of Almighty Allah. Hazrat Umar gave lot of wealth in charity and said that it was not meant to be sold, inherited or gifted, therefore it was given to charity of the poor, slaves and relatives. Giving charity means building mosque, buying Mushafs that need to be placed in mosque or designating a house as waqf, in such a way that its income is spent on the orphans, poor, relatives or the seeker of knowledge that are stipulated by one who can donate money for building a charitable hospital.
If a person constructs a mosque for the purpose of giving it as a waqf, and then later on it gets fallen down, then it is permissible for selling it apart for the purpose of renovating it. A good Quran teacher can emphasize on the importance of Charity in the light of Quran. It is not at all possible for making the most use of it, in this manner the whole thing can be sold and the money can be donated to another waqf. Giving money to poor is the emblem of religion Islam and it is also the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). He never asked for anything, and helped the poor with open heart. He did not have the fear of poverty. According to people, he was much more generous than the wind of sea that can bring rain clouds.
It is also said that each and every adult Muslim must give almost 2.5% of his or her wealth in the charity each year. Almighty Allah says: "O you who believe! Spend out of what We have given you" (2:254). This is the least charity a Muslim must give every year.
