The ritual of Hajj is one of the most important parts of Islamic teachings and the season of Hajj has just passed in recent days. Millions of Muslims got the opportunity and performed the Hajj with religious zeal and zest. When these Muslims go back to their native countries they do not forget to take one thing with them from Holy city of Makkah and that is the water of ZamZam.

The water of ZamZam:

The water of ZamZam first sprouted in the barren valley of Makkah when Gabriel (A.S.) struck the ground with his wings (Saheeh al-Bukhaari, 3364).  The water was actually provided for the infant Hazrat Ismail (A.S.) and his mother Hazrat Hajra (A.S.) (Hager). Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism left his wife and son in this desolate area according to the will of All Almighty.

Although ZamZam has not been mentioned in any of the Quran teaching yet there are many authentic Hadiths regarding ZamZam. The Prophet (PBUH) said,

“The best water on the face of the earth is the water of Zamzam; it is a kind of food and a healing from sickness.” (Saheeh Al-Jaami, 3302).

Blessings of ZamZam:

The water of ZamZam has extreme importance for Muslims and it is considered as a gift of God. As the beloved Prophet of Allah has said,

“The water of ZamZam is for whatever it is drunk for.” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 3062)

The Hadiths means that water of ZamZam does what it is drunk for. Muslims drink this sacred water to cure different diseases and for fulfillment of their prayers and supplications and most importantly these supplications are answered by Allah.

The water of ZamZam is so blessed that you do not need to eat and drink anything but ZamZam water even for month and you will feel no tiredness and will not lose even a single pound of flesh. It is enough to satisfy all the hunger and thirst and is better than all other waters on the earth.

Conclusion:

So, every Muslims should try to drink this water himself and should distribute it among other Muslims as well. It is a matter of great blessings and virtues and will be rewarded by Allah All Mighty.
